Gandhi
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it. Always."
-Mahatma Gandhi-
This quote was very important to Gandhi because it helped him get through many challenges in his life. Gandhi taught us that violence isn't always the best answer. Gandhi believed that if you are truthful and loving towards others you will always win.
Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in the British Indian Empire. He was born into the Hindu religion and his father was a senior government official. Gandhi trained in law in London which later caused him to become a lawyer. Gandhi became famous by fighting for civil rights of Muslim and Hindu Indians in South Africa. He was very famous for this because he always used non-violent techniques.
Gandhi had a very hard life. He was imprisoned many times over the years but he never gave up. Not only did he never give up but, he stayed true to his beliefs. This is why many people look up to Gandhi as a leader, even in our society today.
