One major issue that is going on in modern China is gender inequality. This has always been a big problem in China and it still is today. Some of the ways that China is affected by gender inequality is in education, work, and respect.
The first issue concerning gender inequality is in education. In China there are still more girls that drop out of secondary schools than boys, mostly out of poverty. Many of the girls in China do not have a full education. The boys have a much greater chance of getting a complete education. Since the girls don't have an education it makes it much harder for them to try and get a job.
Another example of how there is gender inequality in China is work. There are very few women who have jobs in China. It is extremely hard for women to make a living for themselves in China because all of the jobs are given to the men. The few women that do enter the workplace successfully face inequality when it comes to promotion and wage. The women are also expected to be more masculine in order to survive in the business environment.
The last issue that I'm going to address is the respect that women in China get due to gender inequality. The women in China are treated so terribly. Even when they were babies they were treated poorly. Some girl babies were left in parks, abandoned, or even killed. As the girls grew up they had poor education causing them to not get jobs. The women are expected to be the men's servants. This is a major affect of gender inequality in China.
As you can see, there is a lot of gender inequality going on in modern day China. All of these issues are very negatively affecting China. Hopefully, things will get better concerning education, work, and respect in China so the future generations will be able to live in a more equal society.
